About CR Forklift Training, Doncaster
Since the age of 16 I have been involved in & interested by the forklift truck Industry. In 1993, my YTS placement (£29.50 per week, £ 10 board to my parents, the good old days!) was as a warehouse assistant & I was responsible for keeping the production line supplied with everything they needed for the manufacturing of Forks for Lift trucks, (We made & sent forks to most manufacturers all around the world, every shape, colour & size imaginable).
Although I was too young to get a license for a forklift during this placement, I acquired my NVQ in warehousing, which, along with my relevant experience, enabled me to get a permanent job at CEFCO MCG Division. When the time came for me to do my training to be able to operate the BT Rolatruc reachtruck, I had an accident on my motorcycle, breaking my arm, (GUTTED!!!). I was finally able to do my training in 1997 & realised how important, responsible & sometimes difficult the job could be. In 2000, I was looking to advance my career & had looked into becoming a Forklift Instructor, I was helped massively by lifetime careers & by Barlow's (now Barloworld handling) & decided to take the course. I had to take another job, working nights, to fund the course & after raising the funds, passed it, I then started a Warehouse project in Edmonton from scratch & stayed there for 3 1/2 years, often being responsible for all aspects of the business, as well as the warehouse, after this I spent a further 4 years setting up & managing a large warehouse in Bentley. I had now spent over 14 years at CEFCO, really enjoying & benefiting from my time there, but felt I had gone as far as I could. I preferred the driver training side of my job so Volunteered for my redundancy, Simply because I had a very settled, quality workforce who needed to keep their jobs & was already committed to fulfilling my ambition of going full time as a Forklift Instructor, So everyone was a winner.
Since my redundancy, I have been blessed with regular work & fantastic feed back from my customers. I perform all training myself, on customer's own premises, using their own vehicles. I'm 100% committed to providing the best service to all of my customers big or small, old or new.
